Vermeule Mundy House

The Georgian Colonial style farmhouse is located on a 2.2-acre tract that is all that remains from the 116-acre plantation purchased in 1768 by Cornelius Vermeule for his eldest son Adrian.

The Vermeules were wealthy landowners from Bergen County, and the floor plan of the house suggests that it was designed to accommodate a large household staff. One of the five fireplaces has an exceptionally intricate design and much of the original interior, including doors, moldings, and plaster, is still intact. The house was recently acquired by Green Brook along with a large collection of artifacts - both of which will be on view to the public.
