First Dutch Reformed Church

The Dutch Reformed Church was the earliest Christian denomination to establish churches in Somerset County.

Designed by noted NY architect William Appleton Potter, renowned for his architecture on the Princeton University campus, this church was dedicated in June, 1897. It is a free interpretation of an English Gothic /Gothic Revival style, so popular during this period in history, as evidenced by its architectural features. This structure is distinguished by the broad and generous handling of interior spaces. Of the twenty stained glass windows that illuminate the interior, four are by Tiffany.
