The USGA Museum is home to the world's premiere collection of golf artifacts and memorabilia. The greatest champions and greatest moments in American golf history come alive through entertaining and engaging exhibitions. The USGA Museum is in the
original Frothingham/Sloane House, a Georgian Revival mansion constructed
in 1919, built for Thomas Frothingham and later sold to John Sloane, a
prominent furniture retailer. It was designed by John Russell Pope, a
leading designer of country houses for wealthy patrons early in the 20th
century. He was later known for his monumental architecture in Washington,
D.C., including the Jefferson Memorial. |
